Rowan Mackenzie, at 23, is one of the youngest concept artists in the film industry at the moment. Spotted while still at school, Rowan was mentored by artists from WETA (Lord of the Rings) Alec Gillis (founder of StudioADI in Los Angeles) and film concept artist to numerous blockbusters, Sebastian Lochmann, who continues to mentor her to this day. Her first professional break came during COVID lockdown working on the Netflix series Peaky Blinders. This was followed by a move to Pinewood Studios, where she worked on productions Luther & soon to be released The Little Mermaid. It was during working at Pinewoods Studios, that she was approached to work in the United States where she now works between Atlanta and Los Angeles, working on big budget productions as well as from her art studio in the Scottish Highlands. Professionally she has worked with Sir Ridley Scott and Guillermo del Toro, while privately she is equally successful. She has sculpted for Russell Crowe and Ryan Reynolds, painted for Sir Anthony Hopkins and will soon be having a sculpture on permanent display at The Vatican in Rome.
